2 killed in crash on icy bridge in north Arkansas
LITTLE ROCK — Two people were killed in a crash on the Illinois River bridge on Arkansas Highway 16 Tuesday night.
April Fanning, 61, and Alan Fanning, 59, both of Siloam Springs were killed in the accident, according to a preliminary fatal crash report.
Around 7:10 p.m., April Fanning was driving a Lincoln Town Car east on the Illinois River Bridge when she lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then entered a clockwise spin going left of center and into the path of a Chevrolet Silverado that was driving west, according to the report.
The pickup truck then hit the front of the town car and continued swerving counter-clockwise. The town car partially rotated and came to rest facing west.
Roads were icy and wet at the time of the crash.
