North Little Rock, Arkansas – Around 10:30 p.m. last night, the Dragon Lounge Nightclub at 609 E. Washington caught fire, prompting the North Little Rock Fire Department to react.

The Dragon Lounge was reportedly operational and running when the fire started, despite the club’s prior closure.

When the fire erupted, six people—a mix of staff and customers—were inside. The crews attested to everyone’s safe departure and lack of injuries.

The 7,000-square-foot structure is classified as historic since it was built in the 1920s. But since a portion of the building collapsed, it has been declared completely destroyed.

There was minor smoke damage to Ramhorn Furniture, which is next door, but the firefighters managed to keep the flames from spreading to nearby walls.

Large clouds of smoke from the fire were visible along I-30 last night, as seen in the image below taken by one of ARDOT’s cameras. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by investigators.
