Storm damages a number of homes in Pike County
Kirby, Arkansas – An emergency management official reported that a powerful storm that blew through Pike County Thursday night caused damage to a number of residences.
When the damage happened, there was a severe thunderstorm warning for Pike County. At about 10:50 p.m., the storm moved through the Kirby neighborhood.
According to officials, most of the minor injuries reported were cuts and scrapes.
Crews are assessing the extent of damage in the storm’s path’s most rural locations, according to a Pike County Office of Emergency Management representative.
Initial reports state that chicken houses nearby were also harmed.
